Introduction

Welcome to Walky Talky, operated by Dawn Patrol, LLC. We take your privacy extremely seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our AI voice notes application.

Information We Collect

When you use Walky Talky, we may collect the following information:

• Account information (email address, name) when you sign up
• Voice recordings you create within the app
• Transcriptions generated from your recordings
• Notes and associated metadata
• Optional precise location and derived city or place context when you enable location tagging
• Subscription and transaction information supplied by Apple or other billing providers
• Usage and diagnostics, including feature activity, processed-audio duration, model usage, and estimated processing cost
• Account-linked product interactions and technical information, such as screen views, app and device details, performance, and bounded error events

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Walky Talky service
• Process your voice recordings into notes
• Authenticate and secure your account
• Communicate with you about service updates
• Improve and optimize our application
• Add optional place context to notes and restore supported local playback copies through your iCloud account
• Measure product usage, subscription performance, and the cost of operating the service

Recording Privacy

Your recordings and notes are processed automatically to provide transcription, note generation, and related app features. We restrict access to authorized personnel and service providers when access is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, or troubleshoot the service, respond to your request, or comply with law.

Live transcription can run on your device, but completed recordings and text are also sent to our hosting, storage, transcription, and AI service providers for the server-side features you request. On supported Apple devices, Walky Talky also syncs a local recording copy and playback metadata to the app's private iCloud container when iCloud is available.

Optional Location

Location tagging is optional. If you enable it, Walky Talky attaches precise latitude and longitude to new voice notes and sends those coordinates to our server. On supported Apple devices, the platform location service may also derive nearby city context before the note is sent. Walky Talky does not send coordinates to a separate server-side reverse-geocoding provider. Turning location off stops collection for future notes but does not remove location already attached to a note; you can remove that note using the app's deletion controls.

Data Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including protected network transport and access controls. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Sharing

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate Walky Talky, such as providers for hosting, storage, authentication, transcription, AI processing, analytics, and customer support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction. Providers receive information according to the services they perform for us.

For example, AI providers receive the audio or text needed to create the requested result; analytics receives a pseudonymous app-install identifier plus product and technical events before sign-in and may link them to an internal user identifier after sign-in; subscription and billing providers receive purchase and entitlement information; and Apple's platform location service may process location when location tagging is enabled on a supported device.

When you create a web share link, anyone with the link can access that note's title, date, transcript, tags, and audio until you revoke the link or delete the note. Link previews may include the title and an excerpt from the transcript.

Your Rights

Walky Talky provides the following ways to manage your data:

• View your available notes while you have access to the main app
• Share individual notes or transcripts using available app controls
• Delete individual recordings or notes while you have access to the main app
• Request a copy of your personal information
• Request deletion of your Walky Talky content and deactivation of app access

You can request deletion of your Walky Talky content and deactivation of app access from account settings even if you do not have access to the main app. For help accessing, copying, correcting, or deleting specific information, contact privacy@walkytalky.app. The deletion process begins when you confirm the request, but removal from all systems finishes asynchronously. Limited records may be retained when reasonably necessary for billing reconciliation, security, fraud prevention, tax or accounting obligations, legal compliance, or backup integrity. Service-provider logs, backups, authentication and lifecycle records, billing records, support records, analytics, and app-managed copies stored in your iCloud account may follow separate retention and deletion timelines.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date.
